Turnover stats show strong growth in wholesale trade

Indices on turnover value show that there was a strong increase in the turnover value of wholesale and commission trade in the first nine months of 2006, and a milder increase in the area of motor vehicles.

The Turnover Value Index of Wholesale Trade and Commission Trade for September 2006 increased by 9.4 units or 6.5% to 154.0 units compared to 144.6 in September 2006. For period January-September 2006 the Index recorded an increase of 8.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2005.

For the motor sector, the Turnover Value Index of Sale and Repair of Motor Vehicles and Retail Sale of Automotive Fuel in September 2006 increased by 14.2 units or 10.7% to 147.3 units compared to 133.1 in August 2006.

For period January-September 2006 this Index recorded an increase of 3.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2005.
