TELECOM: EAC expands Cyprus transmission services to Cyta

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has signed a cooperation agreement with state-owned Cyta to provide the telco with access to 100 transmission masts or facilities to mount its GSM mobile base stations.
The EAC already has similar strategic partnership agreements with private telcos Cablenet and PrimeTel fro support of telephony, Internet and television services.
The 5-year agreement with Cyta, with an option to renew for a further 5 years, aims to expand the telco’s coverage to new areas where nearby transmission masts are inaccessible.
