Transport and storage turnover up 6% in 4Q

The Turnover Value Index of Transport and Storage for the fourth quarter of 2023 reached 143.1 units in Cyprus, an increase of 6.0% compared to the same final quarter of 2022, the Statistics Department Cystat said.

Year on year, all economic activities recorded increases, namely: air transport together with warehousing and support activities for transportation (up 10.9%), land transport (+8.6%), postal and courier activities (+0.6%) and water transport (+0.4%).

For the full-year period January-December 2023, the Turnover Value Index of Transport and Storage recorded an overall increase of 16.0% compared to the corresponding period of 2022.

The Index reflects the short-term developments related to the turnover of the enterprises operating in the activities of land transport and transport via pipelines, water transport, air transport, warehousing and support activities for transportation (includes the activity of ship-owning companies which have a physical presence in Cyprus) and postal and courier activities.
