COVID19: Cyprus begins top-up jabs for over 60s

Cyprus on Tuesday began administering a fourth COVID-19 vaccine to people aged 60 and over as the country exits the pandemic.

Beneficiaries can arrange a vaccination appointment through the government portal or walk-in centres.

The booster/4th dose is administered to all those over 60 (upon presentation of identity card, passport or vaccination card) – provided that five months have elapsed since receiving the third shot.

Jabs are also available to residents or employees in care homes or closed structures, healthcare professionals or immunosuppressed patients, regardless of age.

During 15-21 April, Cyprus recorded 18 deaths due to COVID and 6,115 new cases.

Hospitalizations were 108, and the positivity rate now stands at 2.27%.

Total COVID deaths rose to 1,006, with cases since the pandemic reaching 470,319.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Wednesday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Saturday: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Kyperounta: Vaccination Centre (former Cooperative Bank)

Polis Chrysochous: Polis Chrysochous Hospital (every Tuesday from 09:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).

Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are available daily at walk-in vaccination centres.

Every Friday, Johnsοn & Johnson vaccine is available.

The Novavax vaccine is administered only through the arrangement of an appointment.
