COVID19: Saudi Arabia praises Cyprus handling of pandemic

Saudi Arabia ambassador in Cyprus Khaled  M. Alsharif has praised the Cyprus government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, congratulating frontline health workers in combating COVID-19.

In a written statement to CNA, the Ambassador said: “As Cyprus enters the third phase of lifting the restrictions imposed to combat the spread of Covid-19, I praise the Cyprus government’s handling of the pandemic, promptly taking effective measures to ensure the utmost possible protection of its citizens and residents.”

Alsharif also praised “frontline workers for their great efforts that allowed life in Cyprus to return to normality”.

The Ambassador extended his “sincere wishes for continuous progress and prosperity to this friendly country”.

Cyprus waved goodbye to lockdown on Tuesday by reopening airports, shopping malls and gyms but those attending concerts, school graduation or planning weddings will have to wait until September
