Cyprus News: House delegation in Brussels for a meeting on agriculture

President of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources Yiannakis Thoma and Committee members Andreas Fakontis, George Tassou and Antonis Antoniou depart on Sunday for Brussels to participate in the joint parliamentary meeting entitled ''The future of European Agriculture and its global role''.

The meeting is organised by the European Parliament, the French Assembly and the French Senate between 3 and 4 November. The main issues to be discussed are CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) control and prospects after 2013 as well as the role of the European agriculture in food safety worldwide.

The meeting will be addressed by the President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pottering, the EU Commissioner on Agriculture issues Mariann Fischer Boel, the French Minister of Agriculture Michel Barnier and the General Director of the World Food Organization of Food and Agriculture Jacques Diouf.
