Total sales of petroleum products in 2007 remained at the same levels as in 2006 according to the latest figures from the Statistical Service Cystat.

Whereas there were higher sales of unleaded benzine and gasoil low sulphur, a reduction in the provision of petroleum products to ships and aeroplanes meant that the overall sales were flat.

Petroleum stocks at the end of 2007 declined by 25.9% compared to the previous year.

In December alone, total sales of petroleum products recorded an increase of 2.1% compared to the previous month.

A significant rise was recorded in the sales of Kerosene, Gasoil and LPG which can be attributed to the provisions for central heating.

At the same time, sales of Gasoil Low Sulphur showed a decrease. The total stocks at the end of the month were reduced by 1.6% compared to the previous month.
