LOT Polish airlines will increase the number of flights between Warsaw and Larnaca from three a week to four due to greater demand on this route.

Poland’s Ambassador to Nicosia, Zbigniew Szymanski, told the Financial Mirror that most of the flights are full and that the share of Polish and Cypriot passengers is evenly split.

“Cypriots like to go shopping in Poland, especially as they can find any brand or label available in a

shop, only at a 30% lower price,” he said.

The ambassador said that although trade was still a bit slow to pick up, “there is good progress” with companies from both countries keen to enter into business.

Poland is now popular with British tourists, and of course the traditional German travelers, who cross the border for their day-shopping in Poland and return home in the evening.

“My country is also popular for the Scandinavian countries, with the Swedes and the Finns escaping their cold weather to a milder climate in Warsaw or Gdansk.”
