Eurosure Insurance Company, a general insurer that specialises in motor, employer, professional and public works cover, has introduced Eurosure Assist, a specialist free hotline for its 12,000 motor policy holders.

The new product, that has been available since April 10, allows customers to call the 8000 2800 hotline any time or day thanks to a custom designed back-office system developed in cooperation with Technoline of Thessaloniki, a call-centre specialist software house.

The system will monitor the call and as the caller follows the menu instructions, the distress message is passed on to the nearest available insurance representative. All other work, such as on-site assessment, filling of the necessary paperwork, photography of the accident location, are processed on-line and ready for the Claims Department to review the following morning.

Christos Diogenous, heading the company’s IT Dept., said that the system has been designed to be upgraded to the GPS system whenever Cyprus introduced the satellite navigation system, that will allow the nearest available insurance representative to respond to calls within minutes.

The company’s managing director, Luke Benfield, told the Financial Mirror that Eurosure has a relatively low, 46%, of its portfolio invested in motor policies, as opposed to the high risk exposure of as much as 80% of other general insurance companies.

The company, that boasts a CYP 5,5 mln annual turnover, is owned by R. Christofidou Ltd., and a host of construction companies that reads for the Who’s Who of the building, property and contracting sectors.

Eurosure has also maintained a lower risk profile and conservative expansion plan as it already has its hands full with major local contracts, such as insuring the road works, dams, all three phases of the Vassiliko power plant, etc.

The company also provides insurance services to its main shareholders, as well as leading clients who win major public works and construction contracts overseas, be they in Greece and the Balkans, the Middle East or North Africa.
