5,254 new company registrations in Cyprus

The number of applications filed for registrations of new companies rose for the sixth consecutive month in June, on an annual basis, figures released by the Department of Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver show.
According to the figures, applications for new company registration reached 761 in June, from 654 a year earlier, presenting an increase of 16.4%.
However, on a monthly basis, there had been a decrease of applications by 21.5%, compared with 969 applications filed in May.
During the first six months of 2014 the total number of new companies that were registered amounted to 5,254.
