Harmonised inflation at 2.8% in April

The Cyprus Statistical Service has announced that the harmonized index of consumer prices in April 2005 recorded an increase of 2.8% compared to the corresponding index of April 2004, while a year earlier, April 2004, the rate of increase was 0.1%.

On a month-on-month basis, HICP rose by 1.0%; the largest rise was recorded in prices of clothing and footwear, which increased by 10.8% on the previous month.
