Poland should keep moving towards euro zone entry but there is no need to hurry, President Bronislaw Komorowski said on Wednesday as parliament debated a plan to amend the constitution to allow for euro adoption.

"I am personally optimistic about the future of the euro zone," Komorowski told reporters, commenting on the sovereign debt crisis now engulfing the bloc.

Poland, the European Union's largest ex-communist member state, has scrapped plans to adopt the common currency in 2012 due to the global financial crisis and has not set a new target date for joining.
