Eurobank EFG is fifth largest bank in Cyprus

Eurobank EFG has become the fifth largest bank in Cyprus based on Central Bank data according to the Bank’s General Manager in Cyprus, Michalis Louis. Speaking at a press conference to mark the Bank’s second anniversary in Cyprus, Louis and Eurobank EFG Group CEO Nikolaos Nanopoulos said the Group intends to expand the number of customer business centres to 10 from 3 centres now.
Louis told the Financial Mirror that the fourth customer business centre will operate in Nicosia while the other units to be opened will expand the Group’s geographical presence to cover all of Cyprus.
Eurobank will remain committed to offering wholesale banking operations, offering specialized services such as investment & private banking in combination to asset management and international banking services.
Eurobank also intends to participate either as advisors and or provider of financing for large infrastructure projects in Cyprus, a commitment made to President Demetris Christofias following a meeting in Nicosia on Wednesday.
“We shall bid for major projects such as marinas, road network expansion or existing ones in line with our commitment to Cyprus,” said Eurobank senior official Nikolaos Karamouzis.
