Industrial turnover slowed in December 2023

The Industrial Turnover Index in Cyprus reached 180.1 points in December, a marginal increase of 0.3% from the same month in 2022, according to official statistics.

However, on a monthly basis, the general index retreated in December from 193.4 in November.

On an annual basis, the index was up by 5.8% from January-December 2022, the Statistical Service Cystat said.

The sub-index for manufacturing reached 186.8 units in December 2023, an increase of 1.6% compared to the year-earlier December. This, too, was slower than November’s 190.5 points.

Year on year, increases were noted in December in the sub-sectors of water supply and materials recovery (+21.0%) and mining and quarrying (+9.4%). A decrease was recorded in electricity supply (-12.4%).
