CYPRUS: Registered unemployed decrease 15.6% in November

Τhe number of registered unemployed in Cyprus decreased 15.6% on an annual basis in November, according to the seasonally adjusted data.

Registered unemployed at District Labour Offices reached 28,514 persons.

Based on seasonally adjusted data that show the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for November 2018 decreased to 24,887 from 25,219 in the previous month and 30,709 a year ago.

Compared to November 2017 there was a jobless decrease of 5,266 or 156% was recorded.

This was mainly observed in the sectors of trade (a decrease of 1,131 unemployed), public administration (a decrease of 939), construction (-633), manufacturing (-609), accommodation and food service activities (-317), education (-201).

For unemployed newcomers to the labour market there was a decrease of 1,472.
