CYPRUS: Defence Minister in Cairo for trilateral meeting and military expo

Cypriot Defence Minister Savvas Angelides is in Cairo to attend the opening of military expo "EDEX-2018" and take part in a trilateral ministerial meeting of Cyprus, Greece and Egypt.

Angelides was invited to the Egyptian capital by his Egyptian counterpart, General Mohamed Zaki to attend the first ever "EDEX- 2018" expo to be opened by Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Over 40 countries active in the arms industry are taking part in the expo.

A trilateral meeting of Ministers of Defence of Cyprus, Greece and Egypt will also review cooperation between the three countries so far and seek ways to further enhance it.

The ministers will also discuss regional security matters and other issues of common interest such as energy and maritime security in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
