The famous “Vangelis” Tavern relocates from Paralimni to Protaras for the summer season continuing to offer high-quality authentic Cypriot dishes.

The meat meze has the leading role in the menu especially the large one which is named after the tavern founder. As for seafood lovers, the “Fisherman’s net” includes a wide variety of fresh fish, kalamari, mussels, shrimps and other quality choices.

The new space is big and tasteful embellished with wood and decorated with interesting kitchen utensil shaped lighting bringing to mind modern taverns at the historical centre of Athens. At the back side, the sea view in combination with the green of the surrounding trees, create the perfect scenery for a pleasant summer atmosphere.

The tavern opened in 1948 in Paralimni, its usual base for the winter period, and since then it has accommodated residents and visitors of the area as well as many famous local and foreign politicians, religious and financial leaders. Today the tavern is managed by the fifth generation of the family of the founder, the late Vantzelis Hatziflouris, and particularly Dimitris and Vangelis Liotatis, who maintain the outstanding hospitality of their family, welcoming their customers with a smile on daily basis. Dimitris Liotatis said: “Being lovers of great food ourselves, we wanted to continue our family tradition and offer locals and tourists visiting Protaras a great option of authentic Cypriot tastes for lunch after the beach or dinner during their night out.”

“Vangelis” will operate only in Protaras by the end of September.
