CYPRUS: KOK Fight spectacle in Nicosia

The emerging KOK Fights, which is gaining more and more support around the world, will visit Nicosia for the first time on Sunday December 7th 2014.

During the Cyprus meet, the fans will witness ten great battles with a total length of five hours approximately. Prestige Group is the main sponsor of the event.

By combining nine martial arts, Κickboxing, K-1, Karate, Κung Fu, Kudo, Boxing, Taekwondo, MMA, WUSHU as well as other war technics, the super fighters of the King of Kings (ΚΟΚ) are truly impressive athletes. A fact that proves the excitement and spectacle of KOK Fights is that around 80% of the matches end with a knock-out.

The greatest matchup of the night is that between local star Alexandros Philippides and Belal Mesaudi of Turkey, who will face off for in the grand battle of King of Kings. In every match a great Cypriot fighter will defend the country against some of the best athletes from abroad.

Besides Philippides, the other Cypriot are Savvas Michael, Giorgos Kecherov, Stefan Almazov, Kyriakos Alepides, Kostas Zenonos, Giorgos Kastanides and Sotiris Christodoulou.

Fighters from England, Netherlands, Poland, Lithuania and Turkey are in Cyprus, with the purpose to challenge for the titles in three different weight categories (64kg, 71kg and 85kg). The Nicosia event is one of rounds of the 2014 World Series which has attracted the interest of thousands of fans in Lithuania, Poland, Moldova, Germany, England and Russia.

The prestige of KOK Fights could be iliustrated as this event is usually covered in high definition and aired on Eurosport, which goes to 64 countries and 133 million households.

The event is organized by the World Bushido Federation and for that purpose, the president Donatas Simanaitis is already in Cyprus. Responsible on behalf of the local organizing committee is the Cyprus Federation of Traditional Sporting Muay Thai.

The first KOK Fight was staged in 2003, while a unified set of rules were implemented in 2009. The greatest fighters from around the planet compete in the sport, using various technics from some of the finest martial arts.
