APOEL’s coach to be declared as top Serbian football coach

Serbian Football Association has announced that FC APOEL of Nicosia coach Ivan Jovanovic will be declared as the top Serbian coach for the year 2011, following APOEL's achievement to qualify in the last 16 stage of the UEFA Champions League.

A press release issued by APOEL FC writes that Jovanovic will be awarded with the top Serbian coach accolade during a special event on Tuesday in Belgrade, Serbia.

In its second appearance in the UEFA Champions League group stage, APOEL coached by Jovanovic became the first Cypriot football club to enter the league's knockout round where it will face Olympique Lyonnais. Under Jovanovic APOEL also participated in the Champions League group stage in 2009-2010.

After 14 match-days APOEL tops the Cypriot football league standings with 32 points.
