Cyprus sold 90 mln euros in 13 week treasury bills, paying a 3.50% average yield at an auction on Wednesday, the finance ministry said.
The yield at the previous successful auction of 13 week bills, in March 2007, was 3.61%. No bids were accepted for up to 150 mln euros worth of 13 week bills the Republic placed on offer in an auction on January 10, 2011.
The Finance Ministry accepted bids for bills worth 90 mln euros, as opposed to the 50 mln it initially placed on offer.
Last week the Republic sold 714 mln euros worth of two-year domestic bonds at an average yield of 5%, 293 basis points higher than the sale of corresponding paper at an auction in January 2010.
