Cyprus credit card payments up 2% y/y to July

Credit card payments in Cyprus rose 2% in the first seven months of 2010 compared to last year, clearing agency JCC said on Wednesday.
Transactions worth 1.09 bln euros were processed with credit cards from January until July. In July alone, the value of transactions was up 5% year-on-year to 179.4 mln euros, JCC said.
There were five percent more transactions than last year, though the amount people spent fell marginally. The average value of each transaction was 74 euros, compared to 76 last year.
