Services turnover revised up

Turnover in the general services sector rose by a revised 0.9% over the year earlier in January – March 2010, compared with an earlier estimate that reported a 0.6% decline.
The general turnover index does not refer to the entire services sector.
The main difference was an upward revision to legal and accounting activities.
Legal and accounting activities rose by 2.4% (after an earlier estimate that reported a decline of 6.4%).
Also on the positive side, turnover in architectural and engineering activities rose by 5.1%, telecommunications services rose by 2.2% and accommodation and food services rose by 2.2%.
On the negative side, there was a fall of 9.8% in the turnover of computer programming and related activities and turnover in travel agencies dropped by 4.6%.
