Cyprus trade deficit widens in February

The trade balance in Cyprus widened in February according to preliminary figures from the Statistical Service.
Total imports/arrivals reached EUR 414.4 mln, of which EUR 280.0 mln were arrivals from other member states of the EU and EUR 134.4 mln were imports from third countries.
Total exports/dispatches were EUR 76.4 mln, of which EUR 43.4 mln were dispatches to other member states of the EU and EUR 33.0 mln exports to third countries.
The trade balance rose from EUR 343,315 in February 2009 to EUR 373,005 in February 2010.
For the period January-February 2010 the trade deficit rose by 8.5% over the year earlier to EUR 373,005.
