FBME Card Services Ltd has become the first company to compete directly with JCC Payment Systems, offering credit card processing in Cyprus, for both online and merchant transactions.
Guy El Khoury, CEO, FBME Card Services said that the company’s new transaction processing system has been live for about six months, undergoing extensive technical and market testing before it is formally launched in the very near future.
Meanwhile, FBME Card Services announced the certification of the entire company in accordance with the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 international standard.
FBMECS is a Cyprus incorporated company and a fully owned subsidiary of FBME Bank Ltd. which operates as an International Banking Branch in Cyprus. Licensed with Visa and MasterCard, FBMECS offers a full range of products to its customers.
This is the first ISO 27001 certification in Cyprus, and one of only a handful in the region. Certification was the culmination of almost three years of work to ensure the highest possible standard of information security management in all departments of the organisation, in keeping with the company's mission statement: “We exist to deliver secure, reliable, quality payment solutions by investing in our people and technology”.
“We pride ourselves in offering a fast and efficient service to match the increasing demands of today's global payment systems. FBMECS also provides a comprehensive array of other card related services such as customised card products in order to meet the specific needs of merchants, corporations and institutions,” said Guy El Khoury.
ISO/IEC 27001:2005 covers all types of organisations and specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving a documented information security management system within the context of the organisation's overall business risks. It specifies requirements for the implementation of security controls customised to the needs of individual organisations or parts thereof.
The standard is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties.
While continuing to offer top quality service, the ISO certification offers customers an extra assurance of security and peace of mind.
