Vaccinations for H1N1 flu will begin around the last ten days of November, Health Minister Christos Patsalides has announced.

He told a press conference on Tuesday that the first vaccinations for the vulnerable groups of society will take place at designated vaccination centres in every district and that the Ministry of Health will announce the specific dates and times when people will be asked to come forward for vaccination.

Patsalides said that those people who believe that belong to the groups of those who should be vaccinated must visit their doctors and obtain a certificate that confirms the need for the vaccine.

The groups recommended to receive the 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine include persons with an existing serious illness, moderate to serious asthma, chronic lung illness, diabetes, serious heart problems, chronic kidney illness, serious liver deficiency, chronic neurological illness, immune deficiency disorder, pregnant women or people with a BMI of over 40.
