Cyprus and Ukraine sign tourist agreement

Cyprus and Ukraine signed here on Friday a tourist agreement. The agreement was signed by Cyprus Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Antonis Paschalides and the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine Vasyl Vovkun.

In statements after the signing ceremony, Paschalides said that the agreement would further enhance tourist relations between Cyprus and Ukraine.

“There will be an exchange of information, know-how and mutual support,” he said, noting that the aim is to increase the tourist flow to and from both countries. He expressed optimism that with the tourist agreement and with the operation of a tourist office of Cyprus in Kiev, the tourist flow from Ukraine to Cyprus will increase.

Vovkun described this day and the signing of the agreement at governmental level as very important and noted that the two countries have already close ties. He added that the agreement offers new potential to enhance further the relations of the two countries in various economic fields.

He also noted that new prospects would be created as regards the improvement of tourist relations between Cyprus and Ukraine, with the opening of a Cypriot embassy in his country and an office of the Cyprus Tourism Organization.
