In 2006 Lloyds TSB Offshore Limited, a subsidiary of the British bank, Lloyds TSB, established a branch in Limassol, Cyprus. The branch provides a seamless worldwide personal banking service for those people retiring abroad or simply wanting long-term security for their savings and investments.
Recently, Lloyds TSB Offshore further strengthened its presence in Cyprus by recruiting more staff.
Newly appointed Regional Manager, Peter Hughes, told the Financial Mirror that he was excited about the future of the Cyprus branch and that he expects the number of staff employed at the office to further increase into 2010.
“We want to use Cyprus as a base to service the East Mediterranean hub,” said Hughes, who sees a great deal of potential both in Cyprus as well as in the region.
One of the main objectives of the Cyprus branch is to provide a service to both local Cypriots and to the approximately 80,000 British expats currently living on the island who require financial products which are designed to make living, working and travelling abroad simple.
In the current economic climate money is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. Lloyds TSB Offshore is on hand to help provide reassurance during this time.
“Lloyds TSB has been relatively sheltered from the worst of the recent market turmoil and continues to have a strong capital position,” Hughes added.
