Secure Computing Corporation, a leading enterprise gateway security provider, is organising a specialised security seminar this week in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in collaboration with its partner MCS. The forum aims to familiarise Secure Computing’s key customers in Egypt – comprising government departments and banks – about latest application-layer threats and the need for a new generation of multi-layered security that builds on traditional security protocols with inbound and outbound protection.

“The increased adoption of new Web 2.0 applications has exposed the enterprise to a greater number of security threats that are not identified by most of the applications, including many of the Web and messaging security solutions currently available on the market today,” said Nimer Ghazal, Regional Sales Manager for Secure Computing.

“Events such as these provide the right setting to successfully communicate the effectiveness of Secure Computing’s latest solutions to a chosen target audience, while also enabling us to take our relationship with customers to new levels,” he added.

The topics that will be covered during the security forum include next generation reputation system for enterprise; seven design requirements for Web 2.0 threat prevention; comprehensive Web protection; security framework and methodology; network gateway security, identity and access management; and image spam.

In recent months, Secure Computing announced the release of Secure SafeWord 2008 (formerly known as SafeWord 2008), a new version of its two-factor authentication solution which provides secure yet cost effective two-factor authentication through user-friendly tokens, protecting access to critical information assets and applications through Citrix applications, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Web applications and Outlook Web Access.

The company also unveiled its “SWAT” Initiative for protecting organizations from Web 2.0-related threats carried in Web and messaging protocols. The “Secure Web 2.0 Anti-Threat” initiative is an intensive effort to provide corporations with informative research, tools, solutions and best practices vital for companies evaluating-or re-evaluating-their approach to Web and messaging security.
