Cyprus prof services see 21.5% increase in 2007

Professional services in Cyprus enjoyed a bumper year in 2007, with the turnover value of “legal, accounting, book-keeping, auditing and other related activities” rising by 21.5%.

Turnover in hotels and restaurants also performed reasonably strongly, rising by 11.9%, perhaps as consumer spending by locals made up for another disappointing year for tourism.

Computers and related activities rose by 7.8% in 2007, while architectural, engineering and other related activities” rose by 3.5%.

 

Transport

 

Land transport activity increased by 4.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2006.

Water transport turnover value decreased by 10.9% in 2007, compared to the corresponding period of 2006. Air transport increased by 6.9%.

Communications (Post and Telecommunications) turnover value increased by 9.9%, compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
