Putting Cyprus on the international tourism map

Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos said that the promotion and establishment of Cyprus on the international tourism map as an attractive tourist destination remains one of the most important priorities of the Government, which is promoting a plethora of alternatives for visitors, based on the 2003-2010 strategic development plan.
Addressing the annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Tourism Business Association (STEK), President Papadopoulos referred to a series of measures that have been taken, based on the Government’s strategy on tourism, as well as the efforts to promote Cyprus abroad, noting that the whole tourist industry could contribute in this direction.
President Papadopoulos pointed out that the Government is following and monitoring the plan, which has already been revised in order to set goals and priorities for the promotion of Cyprus but mainly for projects and the qualitative improvement of services.
