Louis plc announces that it is in cooperation with Costa Croiciere, subsidiary of Carnival Corporation which is the largest cruise company in the world, and MSC Cruises for the submission of an offer for a long term lease of the cruise terminal and the cruise ship pier at the port of Marseille.
The port of Marseille is one of the largest ports in Western Mediterranean and has become one of the most significant cruise centres in the Mediterranean, since it is used by most international cruise companies. The traffic in the port of Marseille is expected to increase significantly in the next three to five years. Louis Cruise Lines is one of the most significant users of the port from 2004, with many of its cruise ships making cruises from Marseille, while others, including those chartered in Thomson Cruises, include the port in their itineraries. It is noted that in 2008, the presence of Louis Cruise Lines in the region will be improved.
It is reminded that Louis already cooperates with Costa Croiciere and other international and Cypriot companies for the introduction of Zenon Consortium, which has submitted an offer for the development of the Larnaca port and marina.
