Cyprus construction materials prices up y/y on oil costs

The price index of construction materials for October 2007 reached 140.73 (base year 2000=100.00), recording a marginal decrease of 0.02% over the previous month.

However, compared with October 2006, construction materials prices rose by 5.6%–well above the rate of inflation.

This was mainly as a result of a leap in the prices of petroleum products, which rose by 20.4% in October, compared with October 2006.

For the period January-October 2007, the index recorded an increase of 5.2% over the corresponding period of the previous year.
