Industrial turnover up 9.6% y/y in July

The industrial turnover index for July 2007 reached 158.7 units (base 2000=100), recording an increase of 9.1% compared to July 2006, after rising by 4.8% in June.

The index comprises mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply).

For the period January-July 2007 the index recorded an increase of 7.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Turnover in the “non-domestic” sector, rose in this period by 19.5%, whereas turnover in the domestic sector rose by 6.1%.

In January-July, mining and quarrying was up 14.6%, manufacturing was up 8.1%; and electricity, gas and water supply was up 1.1%.
