NetGear Middle East posts $4 mln revenues in first half

NetGear, a worldwide provider of branded networking products, has announced record revenues of USD 4 million in the first half of 2007, which sustains its multi-million dollar revenues and consolidates its position as a major player in the regional IT market. The company further announced that it is set to highlight cutting-edge products including the award-winning Digital Entertainer HD (EVA 8000) and ReadyNas at the upcoming GITEX 2007, which will be held on September 8-12, 2007 at Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

ReadyNas that utilizes Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) for data protection and automatic scalability. The company recently acquired US-based Infrant Technologies for USD 60 mln, which will enable it to offer a complete line-up of feature-rich, scalable and cost-effective storage solutions with network attached storage (NAS) devices led by the ReadyNas range. In addition, NETGEAR will also showcase its array of high performance and scalable Smart Switches with the ability to support 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) on all 24 10/100 ports as well as the Dual-Mode Cordless Phone with Skype (SPH200D), the first dual-mode DECT cordless phone to support both landline phone calls and Skype Internet calls.

NetGear made its entry into the Middle East in June 2006 and has since aggressively expanded across the Middle East, attaining a strong presence in the booming markets of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon and Egypt with a portfolio of industry-leading products and an extensive distribution network. The company’s impressive revenue results for the first half of 2007 augur well for its targeted 200% earnings growth for the entire year.
