Cyprus donates $20,000 to Lebanon

Cyprus donated $20,000 to Lebanon to promote the implementation of the UN Security Council 1701 resolution for the establishment of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the neighbouring country.
A cheque for this amount was handed over during a special ceremony here by Foreign Ministry Permanent Secretary Alexandros Zenon to the Ambassador of Lebanon to Cyprus Michel El Khoury, who thanked the Government and the people of Cyprus for their support and solidarity with the people of Lebanon.
According to a decision by Cyprus Council of Ministers, with this amount the Republic of Cyprus is reinforcing the Armed Forces of Lebanon, with a view to promote the full implementation of the UN Security Council 1701 resolution for the establishment of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the neighbouring country.
