New Cyprus CB Governor name in “10 days”

The new Cyprus Central Bank Governor will probably be named in the next 10 days, said Finance Minister Michalis Sarris on the sidelines of a press conference on euro awareness.

“It is up to President Tassos Papadopoulos to make the appointment,” said Sarris clarifying that he is not a candidate for the post.

The term of the Governor Christodoulos Christodoulou expires in April 2007 and in most likelihood, President Papadopoulos will not reappoint him again.
