Cyprus will host the “Training Course on Cultural Conflicts Resolution and Project Development” that is organized by the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures.
Around 55 young civil society workers and teachers from 25 EU countries and 10 Mediterranean countries will meet in Nicosia from 19 to 24 February 2007 with the aim to promote intercultural dialogue as a pre-requisite for settlement of conflicts for the development of a ”culture of peace”.
According to the organizers’ press release, the course will seek to develop the competencies of youth workers and teachers on project development and will be introduced to methods and tools of conflict resolutions through a simulation game.
The training course aims to create a team of qualified experts and trainers that can support civil society in their country. It also seeks to raise the awareness about different aspects of conflict and the nature of causes and consequences.
The training course is organized in co-operation with the Research and Development Centre-Intercollege in Nicosia.
