A new international recognition was awarded to the Cyprus International Institute of Management with the accreditation of its MBA and MPSM programmes by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) with the EPAS standard of excellence. This makes the CIIM the only academic institution on the island with a triple accreditation from KYSAP/KESATS, AMBA and EFMD for its twin programmes.

The EFMD, which promotes the development of business management in Europe and internationally, is based in Brussels and brings together over 600 member organizations, in more than 65 countries, which have achieved a distinguished position in the academic, business, public or consultancy sectors. Over 15.000 professionals involved in management development worldwide join the network of EFMD to discuss and promote relevant matters and to build up co-operation and partnerships among their respective institutions and organizations. The foundation has also introduced the European Quality Improvement System EQUIS and the CLIP, CEL and EPAS accreditation systems for universities and business schools.

Heading the EFMD delegation to assess the CIIM programme was former Dean of the Dutch Business University Nyenrode professor Hans Palm, together with professor Nicholas Travlos, Dean of Greek Business School ALBA, Jacques Chaniol, Director of French ESC Tours-Poitier and Hans Volker Buss, former senior executive of Unilever.
