Fujitsu back in black

Fujitsu has said that it returned to the black in its third quarter with a net profit of 3.3 bln yen (US$ 28.1 mln).

In the same quarter from October to December in 2004, it reported a 9.5-bln-yen loss.

The Japanese electronics maker also said its operating profit for the quarter rose 1.1% to 12.59 bln yen.

The company attributed the improved earnings to strong sales in its computer and hard-disk drive departments.

Overall sales for the quarter grew 7.5% to 1.12 trln yen, it said.
