Revenue from tourism in June 2005 rose by 3.7% compared with June 2004, reaching CYP 113.3 mln. This was lower than the 6.7% rise in arrivals recorded in the same month, which suggests that spending per tourist is still down.

However, the gap between the two is narrower than it was earlier in the year.

In the first six months of the year, total tourism arrivals rose by 5.9% compared with the same period of 2004, to reach 1,018,914, while total tourism revenue rose by only 0.6% to reach CYP 372.5 mln.
