Brussels blocks airports deal

The European Commission has called for the suspension of the

signing of the agreement between Hermes Airports JV and the Cyprus Government for the construction and management of the new airports in Larnaca and Paphos.

The suspension was based following J&P’s accusations against the Ministry of Communication and Works for subsequently changing the tender terms. J&P was bidding for the project through its participation in Cyprus Airports JV.
