McAfee IntruShield tops worldwide ranking

McAfee, a pioneer and leader of intrusion prevention solutions (IPS), has been named the worldwide revenue market share leader in-line network intrusion, for the year 2004, by the Infonetics Research report.

Patrick Hayati, Regional Director Middle East, McAfee said, “The importance of intrusion prevention solutions has amplified around the world, including the Middle Eastern markets, as a result of the surge in cyber attacks and the changing nature of these attacks”.

McAfee IntruShield has set the standard for next-generation IPS technology, by delivering a series of industry firsts, like the first to integrate signature, anomaly and DoS detection in a single appliance providing the most comprehensive protection for detecting and blocking malicious attacks.

According to Infonetics, the estimated five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for network-based IPS is 76%, with a projected growth rate of 99% from 2004 to 2005 alone.
