Cyprus participates in French agriculture fair

Cyprus is participating with a national pavilion in the Salon de l’Agriculture being held in Paris, from 26 February to 6 March 2005.|

Participating in the Cyprus pavilion are the Ministries of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment following an invitation by the French Ministry of Agriculture.

An official statement issued here said the Cyprus pavilion is part of the EU pavilion of the ten new EU member-states and aims to promote European agriculture and the new EU members.

Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment Minister Timis Efthimiou, Cyprus’ Ambassador to France Minas Hadzimichael and other Cypriot officials represented Cyprus at the opening ceremony.

During the fair, Cyprus held a national day on 27 February to promote its agricultural products and tourism. Visitors had the chance to taste halloumi cheese, wine and citrus fruit.
