Austrian Airlines clinches world’s best business catering award

More than 14 mln passengers from over 90 countries evaluated some 160 airlines worldwide for the “2007 World Airline Awards” between August 2006 and June 2007.  The result saw Austrian Airlines taking first place in the worldwide comparison of business class catering.

Since the middle of June, all passengers of the Austrian Airlines Group have been pampered with exclusive DO & CO catering. Guests are impressed by typical Austrian delights and country-specific specialities, especially on flights to India, China and Japan. A wide selection of breads and Austrian wines recommended by trained “on board sommeliers” completed the in-flight gourmet entertainment. Austrian Airlines has long had an impressive concept developed together with Airest of using Austrian and internationally awarded chefs on long-haul flights and serving sophisticated menus by famous chefs from around the world.

As a member of the Star Alliance, which was also praised as the world’s best alliance in this “Skytrax” evaluation, the Austrian Airlines Group carries its passengers to 130 destinations.
