Ernst & Young Cyprus promotes new partner in international tax

The local accounting firm of Ernst & Young has announced the promotion o Maarten Koper as a new partner as a result of the firm’s expansion policy, raising the number of partners to nine.

“This promotion demonstrates our growth and commitment to develop and promote our experts,” said George Kourris, managing partner of Ernst & Young Cyprus.

“The new partner in our team will strengthen our local organization and contribute to the development of the Cyprus practice,” he added.

Maarten Koper has been with Ernst & Young for 14 years. He started in 1993 in Ernst & Young Netherlands and in 2004 he moved to Cyprus as senior manager.

He is specialized in the area of corporate taxation, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures through bound structuring projects. His area of expertise also includes EU tax matters, arm’s length pricing arrangements and inter-company financing as well as licensing structuring.

Maarten is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB) and a frequent speaker at internal and external seminars on international taxation issues.
