The Cyprus Health Services said that a brand of mineral water from Armenia was harmful to the health of consumers and was to be withdrawn from the market immediately. A statement said consumers should not drink the water bottled under the name Jermuk Group with an expiry date of November 15, 2008. The water comes in a half litre green glass bottle, and the importers have been asked to withdraw it from the market.

The ruling follows a similar move by the authorities in the US, where the same make was banned.
