Russian Agriculture Minister to visit Cyprus

Russian Minister of Agriculture Αlexey Gordeev arrives in Cyprus on Friday for an official visit, at the invitation of Cypriot Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Photis Photiou.

During his stay on the island, Gordeev will hold official talks with Photiou on Saturday, in Limassol, during which the two Ministers will review the cooperation of the two countries in the agricultural sector and will examine ways to strengthen this cooperation.

Special emphasis will be given on plant health, promoting agricultural exports to Russia, research programmes and cooperation in the veterinarian sector.

The Russian Minister will also be received by President Tassos Papadopoulos and will meet with a European Commission delegation, headed by Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou.

Gordeev will be departing on Sunday.
