Narrower gap of revenue versus growth

Revenue from tourism reached CYP 120.5 mln in October 2005, 3.9% higher than in the same month of the previous year, according to the results of the Passenger Survey.

This was higher than the average growth rate for the January-October period as a whole, when revenue rose year on year by 2.4%.

There continues to be a gap between the growth rate of revenue and the growth rate of tourist arrivals. Arrivals of tourists rose by 4.8% year on year in October (copmared with 3.9% for revenue) and by 6.2% in the first ten months (compared with 2.4% for revenue).

However, the gap between revenue and growth rates was much smaller in October than in any other month in 2005.
