Melco Resorts and Entertainment, the operator of the EUR 550 mln City of Dreams Mediterranean casino resort which is set to open in 2021, has announced its first 500 job vacancies for this year.
The company is recruiting professionals for the temporary and satellite casinos scheduled to open in 2018, with the first 500 positions to be posted within the next month on the development’s official website www.cityofdreamsmed.com.cy .
The first 20 vacancies announced include a range of positions in finance, construction, information technology, security and casino operations with details available at Melco’s career page http://mycareer.melco-resorts.com .
The project is expected to create 4,000 jobs each year during the construction period and will contribute an estimated 6,500 direct and indirect full-time positions in Cyprus when the resort is fully operational. Located in western Limassol, City of Dreams Mediterranean will be a landmark not only for Cyprus but also for the wider region. With an anticipated annual visitation figure of 300,000 tourists, the integrated resort has been specifically designed to attract visitors year-round.
A temporary casino will operate close to the project site in Limassol while City of Dreams Mediterranean is being constructed. Four satellite casinos are also scheduled to open in Nicosia, Larnaca, free Famagusta and Paphos.
Meanwhile, Macau-based Melco Resorts and Entertainment has been awarded a collective star by Forbes Travel Guide across the company’s luxury integrated resorts, mainly in Asia. NUWA Macau is the only property with a total of five 5-stars for its offerings in accommodation, spa and restaurants including Jade Dragon, Shinji by Kanesaka and The Tasting Room. Altira Macau is one of only two resorts worldwide with quadruple 5 stars; and NUWA at City of Dreams Manila achieved the only new 5-star award for hotels in Manila. Achieving the Forbes 5-star rating on their first attempt, NUWA Manila at City of Dreams Manila and Studio City’s Star Tower are only two of 27 hotels to receive the 5-star rating among over 50 countries.
