Gearing up for DISRUPT FACTOry on Thursday July 3
Industry Disruptors – Game Changers (ID-GC) in a strategic partnership with Cyta, are gearing up for DISRUPT FACTOry on Thursday July 3, 2014, at Cyta’s Headquarters.
The event aims to announce the entrepreneurship competition Disrupt Cyprus Cup, as well as 5 international competitions, that offer young entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their business ideas, get access to funding and international networks, while receiving media attention and special prizes.
During the event, Constantinos Yiorkadjis, Mayor of Nicosia will make opening remarks, while Michalis Stangos and Carla Tanas, Co-Founders of ID-GC, will present the entrepreneurship competitions. Christos Christou, Head of Innovation & Idea Development Center, Cyta, will share advice on how to create a successful startup, Dr. Celia Hadjichristodoulou, General Manager, GrantXpert Consulting Ltd, will speak about EU Funding opportunities and Stylianos Lambrou, Founder & CEO of Social Airways and Co-Founder of Heart Cyprus, will describe his startup journey.
An intensive workshop entitled “Mini Startup Bootcamp” will follow, led by Lauren Valbert, Founder of Empowering Management, focusing on lean startup methodology, customer development and go-to-market strategies for fast growth startups. The workshop will also assist startups to empower their business during the preparation for the national competition Disrupt Cyprus Cup and the other international initiatives.
The event, which falls under the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Cyprus campaign, aims to ignite an entrepreneurial ecosystem that fosters economic growth and job creation.
DISRUPT FACTOry is organized by ID-GC in cooperation with Cyta, under the auspices of H.E Mayor of Nicosia and the Municipality of Nicosia.
